What do we Do? .... At Safari Lodge we are focused on passive recreational sports. We don't have Jet Ski's, drag net Fishing, or encourage clients taking our precious resources, in particular our marine life on the reefs.. Our Snorkelling Trips are a viewing only opportunity, no souveniers here! Our Staff enjoy taking clients Beach Combing, looking at the treasures that wash up and are in the tidal zone. Our Estuary fishing expeditions are using our Canoes, and tidal movements to assist us in our River explorations, no outboards..listen to the local bird life... |

Bicycle Program We have 5 Mountain bikes available for clients to use and explore the local area. Grab one of our laminated maps and pack a lunch and explore the sugarcane fields, local farms and the surrounding villages. Ride to a coastal beach and have a swim. Helmets are provided and a road pickup at dusk also ensures you make it home for our sunset dinners. You don't have to ride back....Go up into the hills, explore the large Pine forest Plantations or remote settlements. Hitch a ride with a local tractor back to the farmers house for a local lunch, if you want "local Fijian discovery opportunities" then this option gives you the mobility and freedom to explore at your own speed. |

Waterfall Daytour Our famous "Waterfall tour" is a 45min drive from our base at Ellington wharf. The drive takes you down the coast towrds Suva for 25min, then into the hills and the Nakauvandra Mountain Range. We then drive for approx. 20 mins on an unsealed road into the Hills. We cross creeks, weirs and numerous valleys, small villages and locals waving wildly as we pass slowly. Waqa lives on a 180 acre farm in the hills, he has Pineapple plantations, Mango Trees, Fruit Trees and vegetables growing. His herbal medicine talk is very entertaining and enlightening..amazing really! A swim in the waterfall, a sunbake on the rocks and a feast of traditional Fijian treats...Dancing, songs and stories all fill in the afternoon activities. This trip is avaialble 7 days a week with prior booking. Check out the photos in our Photo Gallery Section. |

Village Stays If you would like to stay in a local Village as part of your trip to Fiji...we have the contacts. We utilise 7 of the local Villages for our overnight trips. This allows plenty of rotation and island / mainland / Fishing Villages / Farming villages options for guests. Grab some Kava for your traditional presentation and gift and we'll arrange the rest...including local bus options or drop offs / collections... |

Trecking The steep mountain range towering over our base at Ellington, offers some wonderful 1/2 and day trips. Walk to the top of the Nakauvadra Range and enjoy the views from the top! Views right to the other large island in fiji, Vanua Levu, across the Bligh Passage and Islands. Our local guides take you on these walks and a hearty lunch satisfies your requirements for this walk. Alternate routes can be selected to vary the degree of skill required and duration. |
