About Safari Lodge Resort Fiji

Safari Lodge opened in 2005 on Nananu-I-Ra.  Warren Francis originally from Sydney, arrived on the island in 1991 and utilised a neighboring resort from 1991 until 2000, when the resort closed.  This opened doors and Warren purchased the Ellington wharf mainland access to the island in 2001, moving his extensive watersports boats and equipment over to the Ellington Wharf site, during the interim change.whilst using alternate accommodation for his Windsurfing groups from 2000 until 2004 he was able to maintain a fantastic Windsurfing operation.

During 2004 he cleared the 2 Acres of jungle he had purchased in 1997, adjoining the original resort and cleared and opened Safari Lodge in April 2005.  it had very humble beginnings and has since grown to offer 45 beds in a variety of Villas - Beachfront, Ocean View and Mango Tree villas dot the landscape and offer amazing views over the waters and beach.

Steph and our lovely daughter Aleeci has grown up here in Fiji, spending winters in fiji and summers in Australia.  They both have been a really important part of the development of Safari Lodge and its always exciting when they are around!

At Safari Lodge we are focused on passive recreational sports. We don't have Jet Ski's, drag net Fishing, or encourage clients taking our precious resources, in particular our marine life on the reefs.

Our snorkeling trips & dive trips are a viewing only opportunity, no souvenirs here! Our Staff enjoy taking clients Beach Combing, looking at the treasures that wash up and are in the tidal zone.

Our Estuary fishing expeditions are using our Canoes, and tidal movements to assist us in our River explorations, no outboards. You get to experience all of nature.

We have been on this Island since 1991 and love it!  It is a special place so come and discover.....
